AP forms 1,700 teams for flood damage assessment

Vijayawada: Stating that after efficiently handling the flood situation and launching a massive enumeration exercise to assess the damage caused to the people and the properties, Minister for Housing, Information and Public Relations Kolusu Parthasarathy on Monday came down heavily on the YSRCP for trying to indulge in false propaganda and politicise a calamity to gain cheap mileage.

He told reporters here that they had taken up measures for quick completion of the sanitation process after Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu himself took up relief and rescue operations on a war-footing by converting NTR Collectorate into his temporary abode for efficient handling of the situation.

He said the YSRCP leaders were distorting facts to claim that the TDP-led NDA coalition was responsible for flooding of Vijayawada. Earlier, Chief Minister Naidu criticised the YSRCP for claiming that they allowed flooding of Vijayawada without cautioning people to save his house at Undavalli getting submerged. Parthasarathy said that there is a national level discussion praising Chief Minister Naidu’s policies and actions during the floods. He said that for the past nine days there has been a disturbance never seen in the history of Vijayawada. He said that after the construction of Prakasam Barrage, floods have occurred on a record level and the government headed by the Chief Minister has been

tackling it effectively.
