Revanth to take charge as TPCC chief on July 7

Anumula Revanth Reddy, Congress fire-brand leader and Malkajgiri MP, is all set to assume charge as the president of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) on July 7.

AICC president Sonia Gandhi appointed him to the party's top post in Telangana on June 25, replacing long-time incumbent N Uttam Kumar Reddy.

True to his style, the young leader will go in a procession, visiting PeddammaTalli temple in Jubilee Hills and Nampally Dargah before taking charge in the afternoon. Reddy is scheduled to address a public meeting after assuming charge.

In an open invitation, Reddy urged people to take part in the programme in large numbers and make it a success. "Thanks to the blessings of AICC president Sonia Gandhi, MP Rahul Gandhi and Telangana people, I got a rare opportunity to serve as TPCC president," he said.

Along with the new president, newly-appointed working presidents, senior vice presidents and new chairpersons of the party's different wings will also take charge.
