Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan takes charge as Andhra Pradesh Deputy CM

Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan took charge as Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister in Vijayawada on Wednesday.

The Janasena Party leader has been entrusted with the departments of Panchayat Raj and Rural Development, Rural Water Supply, Environment, Forests, and Science and Technology. Several Janasena leaders and others congratulated him on assuming office.

Pawan Kalyan, the Deputy Chief Minister, is scheduled to meet senior officials for review meetings later.

As the representative of the Pithapuram Assembly constituency, this is his first term as a minister.

These departments were allocated to him by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu earlier this week.

In the recently concluded state elections, Pawan Kalyan defeated YSR Congress Party's Vanga Geetha from the Pithapuram assembly seat with a margin of over 70,000 votes.

The Andhra Pradesh assembly elections were held on May 13, with the results announced on June 4.

The Janasena Party had a remarkable performance, winning all 21 assembly seats and two Lok Sabha seats it contested.

The TDP, Janasena Party, and BJP, part of the NDA alliance, secured 164 out of the total 175 seats, with TDP winning 135 seats and BJP 8.
