Vijayawada: The State Government has opted for a vote-on-account through Ordinate route for an amount of Rs1.3 lakh crore for four months before presenting a full-fledged budget.

The decision was taken by the Cabinet due to precarious financial position and to wait for allocation of funds promised by the Government of India in the general budget. Earlier, due to elections, the erstwhile YSRCP Government had adopted a vote-on-account budget, which came to an end on Wednesday. The YSRCP Government had presented a vote-on-account for an amount of Rs.1.05 lakh crore..

Sources said allocations in the vote-on-account have been done for the Super Six promises made by the coalition during electioneering including increase in pension amount for poorer sections, sachivalayam volunteers, free RTC bus travel and revival of Anna Canteens.

The coalition government is expected to table a full-fledged budget in September-October. Meanwhile, YSRCP alleged that the coalition government had taken another loan of Rs3,000 crore through auction of State Government securities on July 30, taking the total amount of borrowings after the change in government to Rs12,000 crore.
