Address problems of construction workers: Revanth tells Govt

Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Anumula Revanth Reddy on Wednesday demanded the State government to enhance the accidental insurance coverage for building construction workers in case of death to Rs 10 lakh.

He also demanded that construction workers who got injured during work should be paid Rs 5 lakh as compensation and Rs 5,000 per month till he or she recovered. The TPCC chief also sought ESI hospital facility to construction workers, five per cent reservation in corporate schools and overseas education scholarship to their children.

A delegation of Telangana State Committee of Bhavana Nirmana Karmika Sangham (BNKS) met him and submitted a memorandum, listing out the problems they are facing. "It's very painful to know that the present governments don't have any interest in solving long-pending problems of construction workers," he observed.
