Prime Minister Narendra Modi, embarking on his third term in office, wasted no time in prioritizing farmers' welfare.

On his first day, he signed off on the release of the 17th installment of the 'PM Kisan Nidhi,' marking a significant step towards aiding 9.3 crore farmers.

This move, amounting to approximately ₹20,000 crores, underscores the government's dedication to supporting farmers despite encountering challenges in certain rural areas following the National Democratic Alliance's recent electoral victory.

After signing the file, PM Modi affirmed his government's unwavering commitment to farmer welfare, emphasising that prioritising agriculture and farmers will remain a steadfast focus moving forward.

Modi took oath as prime minister on Sunday at Rashtrapathi Bhavan in New Delhi as he led a 72-member Union Council of Ministers.

Opting for continuity, he entrusted key members such as Amit Shah, Nirmala Sitharaman, Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, S. Jaishankar, and Piyush Goyal with pivotal roles in the Union cabinet.

Notably, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) secured two cabinet posts each. Other allies within the National Democratic Alliance also secured cabinet positions, including the Janata Dal (Secular), Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular), and Lok Janshakti Party.

From Telangana, Bandi Sanjay and G Kishan Reddy took oaths as union ministers.

BJP is also planning to relieve Kishan Reddy from the position of Telangana state President.

According to sources, newly elected Malkajgiri MP Etela Rajender is likely to take the reins as Telangana President soon.
