FTCCI starts initiative to connect with academia
The initiative aims to benefit 5,000 students in the first phase

Hyderabad: The ICT (Information and Communications Technology) Committee of the Federation of Telangana Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI) on Wednesday launched the ‘Industry-Academia Connect’ initiative in the presence of leaders from Industry and Academia.
As the chief guest, Prof UB Desai, founding Director of the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad and Advisor to the ICT Committee of FTCCI unveiled the initiative along with other leaders.
Prof Desai welcomed the UGC and AICTE initiative -- Professor-of-Practice. He appealed to industry experts to come forward and become a Professor of Practice. Speaking about the initiative Pankaj Diwan, Co-chair, ICT Committee said that the aim is to benefit 5,000 students in the first phase.
Ten Engineering Colleges including BVRIT, Narsapur Campus; Mallareddy University, Geethanjali College of Engineering and Technology, MLR Institute of Technology, Nalla Malla Reddy Engineering College, Sphoorthy Engineering College, Sreenidhi Institute of Science and Technology, St Peter’s Engineering College, and SR University among others have been onboarded in the Phase-1 of the initiative.
FTCCI has partnered with TalentFarm.ai, an AI-based platform for the execution of the initiative. The other MoUs were signed with TASK, T-Hub and T-Works. The ICT Committee announced a Faculty Fellowship wherein nominated faculty of partner colleges will work for the cause. The committee also informed about building a Centre of Excellence.
The launch programme concluded with two panel discussions – ‘Managing Talent in Disruptive Times,’ and ‘Role of Women in a $10 trillion economic reality.’ The Panelists were domain experts from the industry.
Sikanth Sinha, CEO, Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK); P Sangeetha, Director, FTCCI; Mohan Raidu, Chairman, ICT Committee, and other leaders were present. Around 200 students, faculty, and industry representatives participated.
