CM may shift to Vizag in 2-3 months: Subba Reddy

Visakhapatnam Even as the speculation on the talk of setting up Chief Minister's Camp Office in Visakhapatnam in the near future has gained momentum in recent days, an important functionary of YSRCP has declared that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will relocate to the proposed executive capital in two to three months.

Speaking at an interactive session organised by various linguistic communities like Punjabis, Malayalis, Tamilians, Odias and Sindhis under the platform of newly formed outfit 'Vizag One India,' here on Saturday evening, YSRCP general secretary and regional coordinator of North Andhra YV Subba Reddy said making Visakhapatnam as the executive capital is a firm decision taken by the government as the city has ready-made infrastructure except a few buildings for the Governor's Bungalow and CMO. He said the expenditure to be incurred on making Visakhapatnam will be minimal unlike Amaravati, which was declared as the capital by the erstwhile TDP government to further the interest of a few people.

Reddy, a close confidant of Jagan Mohan Reddy, said Visakhapatnam is emerging as the financial capital of South India like Mumbai. "There is some problem to make it the executive capital due to some legal challenges," he said and exuded confidence that they will be sorted out soon.

Earlier, Industries Minister Gudivada Amarnath and YSRCP district president Kola Guruvulu said at a party meeting recently that there is some good news in store for North Andhra people in connection with Dasara festival fuelling speculation that the Chief Minister might shift to Visakhapatnam sometime in October.
