China and India Commit to Strengthening Ties at BRICS Meeting
The Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) reported an agreement to urgently resolve remaining friction points in eastern Ladakh.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval met in St. Petersburg during a BRICS security officials' meeting to enhance bilateral relations.
They discussed progress on border issues and pledged to stabilise relations for mutual benefit and regional peace.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry emphasised their commitment to implementing agreements and maintaining communication. Wang Yi highlighted the importance of unity and cooperation between China and India.

Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar stated that 75% of disengagement issues with China are resolved but noted concerns about militarisation.
He emphasised that full disengagement is necessary for peace and stability in the bilateral relationship.
