Commodity Watch: Copper futures dip on weak demand

New Delhi: Copper futures on Monday fell 0.39 per cent to Rs 858.95 per kilogram as participants cut their positions amid a muted demand in the domestic market. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper contracts for October delivery eased by Rs 3.35 or 0.39 per cent to Rs 858.95 per kg in a business turnover of 8,758 lots. Analysts said trimming of positions by speculators amid a muted demand in the spot market mainly dragged down copper prices in the futures trade.

Aluminium futures rise on fresh bets

Aluminium prices on Friday climbed 0.60 per cent to Rs 239.90 per kilogram in futures trade as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium contracts for October delivery increased 60 paise or 0.60 per cent to Rs 239.90 per kg in a business turnover of 3,416 lots. Analysts said fresh positions created by traders amid demand from consuming industries supported aluminium prices in the futures market.
