Copper futures gain on higher demand

New Delhi: Copper prices on Wednesday rose Rs 1.65 to Rs 838.10 per kilogram in the futures market on the back of higher spot demand. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper contracts for delivery in October traded higher Rs 1.65 or 0.2 per cent at Rs 838.10 per kg in a business turnover of 8,119 lots. Analysts attributed the rise in copper prices to the raising of bets by participants.

Aluminium futures fall on trimmed positions

Aluminium prices on Wednesday declined Rs 1.75 to Rs 233.70 per kilogram in the futures market as participants trimmed their positions on a weak trend in the spot market. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in October fell Rs 1.75 or 0.74 per cent to Rs 233.70 per kg in 3,493 lots. Analysts said cutting down of positions by participants on easing demand from consuming industries mainly kept aluminium prices lower.
