FMS Dental Launches Neuromuscular Dentistry

Hyderabad: FMS Dental Hospitals, a multi-specialty dental centre announced the launch of Neuromuscular Dentistry, which primarily focuses on aligning the jaw and teeth for proper bite and posture. It also addresses sports dentistry and sleep apnea.

EMG sensors, jaw tracker, BioJVA (Joint Vibrational Analysis), Ultra Low-Frequency TENS unit, ultrasound therapy and low-level laser therapy will be used here to detect and treat the neuromuscular disorders. The centre will also feature T-Scan system, Fotona SP dynamis, in-house dental lab and custom fabrication such as Dental Power Splints and other occlusal splints.

Dr Parthasarathi Reddy, Founder and Chairman, FMS Dental Hospitals, said: “Neuromuscular dentistry is relatively new field in dentistry. Our well trained and experienced team has received international training and hold extensive experience positioning them at the forefront of treating temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders and orofacial pain (OFP).” Dr Reddy further said that Neuromuscular Dentistry also includes orofacial pain disorders like neuropathic and neurovascular pain disorders, headaches and sleep disorders. Symptoms of OFP include headaches, neck pain, ear pain, dental discomfort, facial burning or stabbing sensations and jaw pain.
