Divergent Trading Continues In Futures

Gold futures increased by Rs69 to Rs75,720 per 10 grams in futures trade as speculators created positions on a firm spot demand. Silver futures fell Rs209 to Rs86,978 per kilogram as participants reduced their bets.

On Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold contracts for February delivery traded higher by Rs69 or 0.09 per cent at Rs75,720 per 10 grams in a business turnover of 13,057 lots. Fresh positions built up by participants led to a rise in gold prices, analysts said. Globally, gold futures increased 0.11 per cent to $2,596.91 per ounce in New York.
