The wedding season in India is expected to reach new heights in 2024, with an estimated 48 lakh weddings. This surge is driven by several factors, including a significant increase in auspicious wedding dates—18 dates in 2024 compared to 11 in 2023. Additionally, the growing focus on "Vocal for Local" and "Atmanirbhar Bharat" has boosted the

demand for Indian-made wedding products. Budgets for weddings vary widely, ranging from `3 lakh to over `1 crore, reflecting diverse economies.

The report has been brought by RedLab, the consumer insights powerhouse at Rediffusion.

Talking to Buzz, Sandeep Goyal, managing director, Rediffusion, says, “The Hits of the Year gives us an opportunity to rewind and re-assess the year gone by and re-live some of its peaks and troughs.”

The Big 50 is a new initiative in enlarging and sharing our research, he said.
