A moving car in Jaipur caused widespread panic on Saturday after it suddenly caught fire. The incident took place in the Sodala area of Jaipur, Rajasthan, leading to chaos as the burning vehicle sped through traffic.


Witnesses reported seeing smoke billowing from the car’s bonnet before it began moving uncontrollably. According to Jitendra Jangid, the driver, he had exited the vehicle after noticing the smoke, but the handbrake failed, causing the car to roll down an elevated road.

As the burning car moved, it struck a motorcyclist, adding to the mayhem. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported. Fire officials from the 22 Godam area quickly responded and managed to extinguish the flames, though the car was completely gutted.

Social Media Reactions and Identifications

Social media posts identified the car as an MG Hector, with speculation that a short circuit might have caused the fire. However, there has been no official confirmation regarding the cause. Videos circulating online show people running away from the car, which eventually collided with a road divider.

Official Statements

Fire officer Dinesh Kumar confirmed that there were no casualties. Both the driver and passengers had safely exited the car before it started moving. The incident has left the local community shaken, highlighting the importance of vehicle safety measures.
