Titan launches Limited-Edition Moonphase multifunction watch – Only 900 pieces available!
Titan Company Limited's journey, which began in 1984, marks a significant chapter in India's manufacturing history. Founded as a joint venture between the Tata Group and the Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO), Titan set out with a clear goal: to transform the Indian watch industry. The company officially began operations in 1987 under the name Titan Watches Limited, and since then, its growth and diversification have been nothing short of remarkable.
From its roots in watchmaking, Titan expanded its reach into various segments. In 1994, the company launched Tanishq, marking its entry into the jewelry market. This was followed by successful ventures into eyewear, fragrances under the SKINN brand, accessories, Indian dresswear with Taneira, and women’s bags under the IRTH label. These strategic expansions have transformed Titan from a watch manufacturer into a leading lifestyle brand that has significantly impacted India's retail landscape with innovative, experiential retail concepts.
As Titan celebrates its 40th anniversary, it has unveiled one of its most ambitious achievements: the launch of India’s first Flying Tourbillon watch. This milestone is accompanied by a specially curated anniversary collection that honors the company's rich heritage while embracing the future of watchmaking.
India's First Flying Tourbillon: The Pinnacle of Craftsmanship
The highlight of Titan's 40th-anniversary celebration is the launch of the Flying Tourbillon watch, featuring the groundbreaking 7TH1 Calibre (1984GL01). Developed entirely in-house, this timepiece marks a historic moment in Indian watchmaking. The Flying Tourbillon features a unique bridge shaped like a "T" – a tribute to the Titan brand – placed at 6 o'clock. This bridge also doubles as the Petite Seconds hand, adding a functional elegance to the watch's design.
With a 4 Hz frequency movement and a 36-hour power reserve, this extraordinary watch is encased in a 44mm 18K rose gold case. The movement is adorned with classical watchmaking techniques such as Perlage, Côte de Genève, Spiral Satin, and Circular Satin, showcasing Titan's expertise in traditional horology.
The watch’s dial features two hand-crafted Guilloché patterns: a peacock blue sub-dial with a distinctive "flinque" guilloché pattern and a main dial with a "grain of rice" pattern. Through the sapphire glass exhibition caseback, owners can admire the beautifully finished movement, individually numbered with "INDIA" proudly marking its origin. Limited to just four pieces, this stunning timepiece is priced at INR 26,00,000.
The Commemorative Collection: Honoring Legacy and Craft
Titan's anniversary collection also includes the Classique Case Series, available in 40mm (10030WL01) and 34mm (2755WL01) sizes. These timepieces pay tribute to Titan's original bestselling designs, featuring rose-gold accents on silver-white lacquered dials. Crafted from surgical-grade stainless steel, each piece includes a sapphire crystal with triple anti-reflective coating and bears the original 'Tau' Titan logo. Powered by the in-house P3H Quartz movement, this limited series of 1,000 numbered pieces is priced at INR 24,995 and INR 21,995 respectively.
The collection also features the Moonphase Multifunction Watch in 40mm (10031WL01) and 34mm (2756WL01) variants. These elegant timepieces showcase regal blue hour and minute hands, a moonphase display, and a silver-white cambered dial. Limited to 900 pieces, the watches are priced at INR 41,995 and INR 36,995 respectively.
Completing the collection is the Titan Gold Mechanical Watch (5609GL01), a 38mm masterpiece featuring the Slim Edge Mechanical Movement. This watch, housed in an 18K gold case, includes the ultra-thin 2.2mm hand-wound Calibre 903 movement with 106 metal parts and a 42-hour power reserve. It is priced at INR 5,50,000.
