The Mumbai police have registered an FIR following a threat message received on their traffic helpline WhatsApp number. The message warned of a bomb plot against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, allegedly involving two ISI agents.
Authorities traced the origin of the message to Ajmer, Rajasthan, and have dispatched a team to track down the accused.
A police officer revealed that the message mentioned a conspiracy to carry out a bomb attack on PM Modi involving ISI agents.
In similar cases, police often discover that the messages are sent by individuals under the influence of alcohol or those dealing with mental health issues. Most of the threat messages received by the Mumbai police come through their WhatsApp number, initially set up as a traffic helpline.
