Meta introduces 'Instagram Profile Card': Here's what you need to know

Meta has launched a new feature called “Profile Cards” on Instagram, likened to a digital business card that users can easily share to expand their network. These Profile Cards are highly customizable, allowing users to personalize the background, add links, and include music tracks, alongside displaying their profile picture, bio, and a QR code that links directly to their Instagram profile.

What is an Instagram Profile Card?

The Instagram Profile Card is a double-sided digital card. One side displays a QR code that links to the user’s profile and their Instagram username. The other side shows the user’s profile picture, bio, links, and selected music. Users can customize the background color or even set a personalized image as the background.

How to Edit and Share Your Instagram Profile Card

Instagram is actively promoting this new feature by displaying pop-up notifications on users’ profiles. To access your Profile Card, simply tap on the notification or the “Share profile” button on your profile page. You can then preview your Profile Card, share it with other Instagram users, copy the link, or download the images of the card to share on different platforms. Instagram also provides a button for sharing the Profile Card directly on WhatsApp.

To edit your Profile Card, click on the edit button in the top right corner of the preview screen. Here, you can change the background color, set a custom background image, and edit your Instagram profile details.

This new feature aims to make connecting with new people and potential collaborators easier by sharing a comprehensive, visually appealing snapshot of your Instagram presence.
