Madras High Court to hear Dhanush's plea to prevent use of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan footage in Netflix Docu-Drama

The Madras High Court is set to hear a plea on December 12, 2024, filed by Wunderbar Films Private Limited, the production firm owned by actor Dhanush K. Raja. The firm has sought an injunction to prevent actress Nayanthara, her director husband Vignesh Shivan, and Netflix from using any footage related to the 2015 Tamil film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in the upcoming Netflix docu-drama Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale.

Wunderbar Films is requesting an interim injunction to stop the use of both on-screen visuals and behind-the-scenes (BTS) footage from the film in the docu-drama. The firm has argued that such usage without their authorization would constitute copyright infringement. Justice Abdul Quddhose will hear the case tomorrow.
