Kerala man confesses to killing 6 family members in shocking mass murder case

In a shocking development, a 23-year-old man walked into a police station in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, and confessed to killing six people, including his own family members. The victims are his 13-year-old brother, grandmother, paternal uncle, aunt, and his girlfriend. His mother is critically injured and undergoing treatment.

The crime took place on Monday evening at three separate locations over a few hours. The accused, Affan, surrendered at the Venjaramoodu police station, admitting to the murders and also claiming he had ingested poison. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Affan stated that he killed his family members because they refused to help him clear significant debts incurred after financial losses in his business abroad. However, the police are skeptical about his account and are conducting a thorough investigation. They are examining his phone records and call details to explore possible drug addiction or other motives.

Police have confirmed the deaths of five individuals, with the sixth victim, his mother, in critical condition. Authorities have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Additionally, they recovered a hammer from the crime scene. Preliminary reports suggest that there were signs of financial troubles, and gold may be missing from the house. A possible motive related to these issues is still under investigation.

Local reports mention that the deceased woman, Farsana, had been staying with the family for a couple of days before the murders. No history of criminal activity or drug abuse has been associated with Affan thus far, but the police are exploring all angles.
