A major fire broke out near Miyapur metro rail depot on Tuesday, April 2, causing panic among residents. Prompt response from fire tenders stationed at Kukatpally quickly subdued the flames. Fortunately, there were no reported casualties. The blaze, suspected to have originated from a large accumulation of cable wires and discarded materials in an adjacent open area, was swiftly brought under control.
This incident marks the latest in a string of fires across Hyderabad. Just the day prior, on April 1, a significant fire engulfed the premises of the Unani Hospital near Charminar, attributed to a short circuit. Additionally, on March 28, a warehouse fire in Gandipet resulted in damage to 25 cars.
The surge in fire incidents during the summer months is a recurring trend, often exacerbated by rising temperatures. Notably, until October 31 of the previous year, 1092 fire accidents were recorded in Hyderabad, claiming six lives. Authorities continue to investigate the causes behind these incidents, emphasizing the importance of vigilance and preventive measures to mitigate such occurrences.
