Dog climbs top of Pyramid of Giza in Egypt: Here's what happened next
A video capturing a dog scaling the 4,600-year-old Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt has gone viral, amassing over 25 million views.
The footage, shot by professional adventure athlete Marshall Mosher while paramotoring over Egypt, shows a dog standing atop the largest pyramid, which served as the tomb of Pharaoh Khufu. Mosher shared the unusual sight on Instagram, captioning it, “A dog climbed all the way up the Great Pyramid of Giza! Do you think he lives up there?”
The video sparked a flurry of reactions. One user commented, “No way a dog can climb the huge blocks alone. He was left there,” while another joked, “He marked his territory.” Some expressed disbelief, doubting the dog's ability to make the climb unaided. Concerns about the dog’s safety and its descent were also raised.
In an update shared on Thursday, Mosher confirmed that the dog safely made its way back down. He posted a video showing the dog navigating the pyramid with ease, prompting reactions like, “He’s walking down as someone who’s done that before several times. He’s been up there for sure.”
The viral sensation has drawn humorous and concerned responses alike. One user humorously noted, “None of his friends are gonna believe him,” while another thanked Mosher for clarifying the situation, expressing relief that the dog was safe.
