Food Tech firms are looking at customisation in some kind ofintervention to get back staff to offices.FoodTech is one of the emerging sectors that work towards addingtechnology, efficiency and fluidity to the stages in F&B. This sectorhas witnessed terrific growth in the past few years and is evolving continuously.
After the pandemic, people became accustomed to work from home andare not really ready to go back to office life. The companies, on theother hand, want to bring back their employees to enhance ideageneration, inclusion and many such activities that could benefit thecompany due to employee interaction. Companies are usingvarious tactics for the same with food being one of the majorattraction points.
Talking to Bizz Buzz, Sandipan Mitra, CEO,HungerBox, says, "Companies are looking at F&B as a tool to attract more employees to the officeand we are helping them there. Because we cater to the largestcorporations, each of them has their own perception and interests, sowe customize solutions around F&B for each client."Over two-thirds of our clients have asked us to do something that'scustomisation in some kind of intervention to get staff to offices, headded.
Let us look at the facts. There is almost 50 per cent increase inaverage order value, 45 per cent of monthly active users (MAU)are now back in office. Over208 cafeterias started operations in last four months. HungerBox, so far, hassigned contract with 780 cafeterias across 27 cities.The food valuehas increased by over 3.6 times from February. Over 97 per cent ordersplaced were completely cashless,Sandipan Mitra said.
Food has become an attractive tool for companies to bring employeesback to offices from the work from home model and to attract newtalents as well by providing such additional facilities.
Through the pandemic, industries like EdTech and HealthTechexperienced tremendous growth,but demand for their services came down as the seriesof lockdowns faded. FoodTech on the other hand, suffered due to thepandemic but as its end neared, the sector became a long-termbeneficiary that has grown to a good scale range today.
Present day, the food tech sector continues to expand with more andmore companies adopting digitisation and making their F&B servicesefficient.
