BLACKPINK faces fan fury over steep ticket prices for 2025 Goyang tour kickoff

BLACKPINK’s much-anticipated 2025 world tour announcement has stirred global excitement, but not without sparking serious backlash—especially over ticket pricing for the tour's opening show in Goyang, South Korea.
Earlier today, the K-pop powerhouse revealed ticket details for the Goyang concert, and fans were quick to express their shock. VIP BLINK seats are priced at a hefty 275,000 KRW (around $187 USD), while BLACK tier tickets cost 242,000 KRW ($165). Mid-tier options like the PINK and R sections come in at 209,000 KRW ($142), and general admission seats (S, A, B) range from 176,000 KRW ($120) to 132,000 KRW ($89).
Though premium pricing isn’t unusual for globally renowned artists like BLACKPINK, many fans took to social media to call the rates “insane,” “unrealistic,” and “out of reach” for average concertgoers—especially students and younger fans who make up a large chunk of the group’s fanbase.
Some supporters defended the pricing by citing the massive production scale and international stature of the tour. However, others worry that this trend could set a precedent for future K-pop concerts, making high ticket prices the new norm.
Critics pointed out that while the prices haven’t surged drastically since the group's previous tours, they still feel disproportionately expensive in the current economic climate.
As of now, YG Entertainment has yet to respond to the backlash or comment on any potential changes.
Despite the controversy, demand remains sky-high. Several venues have already added extra shows to accommodate fans, signaling that BLACKPINK’s popularity continues to dominate the global stage—price tag and all.
