Digital creator Apoorva Mukhija, also known as The Rebel Kid, has made a strong return to Instagram after weeks of silence following the storm around the controversial web show India’s Got Latent. Her comeback post carried a clear message: “Don’t take away the story from the storyteller.”

The influencer had earlier wiped her Instagram clean, deleting all previous posts. But on Tuesday, she reappeared with disturbing screenshots of direct messages and comments she had received during the controversy. The messages contained horrifying rape and acid attack threats. In her post, Apoorva noted that what she shared was "not even 1%" of the abuse she endured.

The Controversy Explained

Apoorva has been under fire due to a controversial episode of India’s Got Latent, which also involved YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, popularly known as BeerBiceps. During one segment, Ranveer allegedly asked a contestant an indecent question involving body parts and offered money for an inappropriate act. The outrage hit a peak when he posed a crude hypothetical:

“Would you watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life, or join once to stop it forever?”

The comment sparked massive public backlash. A police complaint was filed against Ranveer, comedian Samay Raina (co-host), and Apoorva Mukhija, citing the promotion of obscene and sexually explicit content. The charges invoked various sections under the new Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). In response, Samay Raina pulled all episodes of the show from YouTube and postponed his India tour.

Legal and Public Fallout

Following the controversy, Apoorva visited the National Commission for Women (NCW) office and submitted a written apology. She was also seen at the Khar police station, but avoided interacting with the media.

Despite the backlash, it’s been reported that Apoorva has been approached for the upcoming season of Khatron Ke Khiladi 15, raising speculation about her next steps in the entertainment world.

While the legal process continues, Apoorva’s return to Instagram sends a clear message about reclaiming her voice—despite the immense digital hate she continues to face.
