Goods Train Derail
At least 11 wagons of a goods train derailed in Peddapalli district, Telangana, late Tuesday, causing the cancellation of 20 passenger trains. The train, carrying iron ore, derailed between Raghavapuram and Ramagundam, although no casualties or injuries were reported.
Restoration efforts are underway to clear the derailed wagons and repair the damaged tracks. A South Central Railway spokesperson assured, "We are working diligently to restore the tracks and minimise disruptions. Passenger safety is our top priority, and we are focused on completing the restoration as soon as possible."
As a result of the incident, four trains were partially cancelled, and 10 others were diverted. Additionally, two trains were rescheduled, and three were regulated.
This incident follows a derailment last week when three coaches of the Secunderabad-Shalimar Superfast Express went off track near Howrah, West Bengal, on November 9.
