Amaravati: In a significant boost for Andhra Pradesh's IT sector, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has unveiled plans to establish a new IT facility in Visakhapatnam, with the potential to create up to 10,000 jobs. This decision was reached following productive discussions between Nara Lokesh, the Minister for IT, Communications, and HRD, and TCS representatives during Lokesh’s visit to the Tata Group headquarters in Mumbai on October 8, 2024.
This announcement follows HCL's recent commitment to invest in Visakhapatnam, reinforcing the city’s emerging status as a prominent IT and high-tech hub in India. TCS's investment signifies a crucial advancement in enhancing Visakhapatnam's IT infrastructure.
The Tata Group's decision aligns with a series of significant investments in Andhra Pradesh from companies such as the Lulu Group, Brookfield, Oberoi, and Suzlon Energy. These initiatives highlight the state's resurgence as a preferred destination for business and industrial development in India.
