McDonald’s is all set to join the growing list of multinational corporations establishing Global Capability Centers (GCCs) in Hyderabad. Sources indicate that the fast-food giant is reviewing plans for its new facility, which could lead to a surge in local job opportunities. A government official, speaking on condition of anonymity to Deccan Chronicle, confirmed ongoing discussions, stating, “Things are still under review.”
A user on X, known for tracking real estate and corporate developments in Hyderabad, revealed in a post that McDonald’s is actively recruiting for several key roles. Positions include cyber defense experts and testing professionals for its Global Security Operations Centre. Additionally, infrastructure engineers and cloud operations engineers are being hired for McDonald’s new Global Technology and Operations Team in the city.
Public records from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs confirm the registration of McDonald’s Capability Centre India Pvt Ltd, signaling the company’s formal entry into the region’s corporate landscape.
The establishment of GCCs in Hyderabad has become a growing trend, with multinational companies leveraging the city’s talent pool, technological infrastructure, and cost advantages. GCCs function as offshore or nearshore hubs, supporting global operations in areas such as technology, security, and business processes.
In the third quarter of 2024 alone, Hyderabad recorded the registration of 2 million square feet of office space, underscoring its appeal as a business destination. McDonald’s move to set up a GCC in Hyderabad aligns with the city’s status as a preferred destination for global corporations. Several companies have recently established their GCCs in the region.
As the plans progress, McDonald’s anticipated presence is expected to contribute significantly to job creation and economic growth in the city.
