WhatsApp Web May Soon Introduce Reverse Image Search Feature
WhatsApp is getting help from Google to tackle the big menace of fake news and misinformation. The messaging app has been testing the ability to reverse search images on Google for Android and it is currently being tested on WhatsApp Web via WABetainfo.
According to the reports, WhatsApp will allow users to authenticate images shared with them using Google.
In fact, the new feature ideally allows users to determine whether a shared image is real, altered, or out of context. That's not all: users don't have to download the image to their desktop as WhatsApp will provide a shortcut to start the reverse image search process directly from the online application.
Furthermore, WhatsApp has recently added the ability to scan documents on its iOS app via a new in-app scanning capability. The latest WhatsApp version includes new functionality that allows users to scan documents from within the app's document-sharing menu, eliminating the need for an external scanning tool.
