To give its users a new experience, WhatsApp has introduced a new feature again.
The new feature allows users to read voice messages instead of listening to them. This feature comes handy for situations like noisy environments or busy meetings.
The feature will be available for Android and iOS users and is set to be rolled out to everyone in the coming weeks.
So, how does the Voice Transcript feature work?
WhatsApp has not confirmed whether they use AI to convert voice messages into text. However, they have stated that the transcription takes place directly on your device.
It ensures that your voice messages stay private and secure. This means that no one, including WhatsApp, is able to listen to them.
Currently, the voice transcript feature supports languages such as English, Portuguese, Spanish, and Russian. In the beta version of the app, there is also an option to transcribe voice messages in Hindi.
