WhatsApp has strict policies in place to stop fraud and scams within the platform. In the most recent report of its monthly reports the instant messaging platform owned by Meta has blocked more than 99 lakh accounts across India between January 1 and January 30. The report states that of the accounts banned, 13.27 lakh accounts were actively WhatsApp account ban prior to receiving any reports from users.
What's the reason WhatsApp has blocked the accounts
The report states that WhatsApp is denying these accounts due to violating certain rules as per the Rule (1)(d) as well as Rule 3A(7) of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules 2021.
