What We Now Know About the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra

Samsung's newest flagship has arrived, and we’ve been looking forward to experiencing the new model firsthand to assess whether its AI features meet the enhancements in hardware. In fact, currently, many high-end brands are adopting this approach, highlighting their dedication to merging AI with essential hardware upgrades.
The launch event held in January hinted at this direction, which makes sense given the increasingly competitive AI landscape expected this year. The Galaxy S25 Ultra comes equipped with the necessary tools to maximize these AI capabilities, and the inclusion of the S Pen adds to its versatility. But does the Galaxy Ultra, priced at Rs 1,29,999, offer the value we desire? Let’s explore this.
Specification and feature
When it comes to design, Samsung has kept a consistent design language over the last few years, and the Galaxy S25 Ultra reflects this continuity. The flat edges have gained popularity, and this new flagship adheres to that evolving aesthetic.
The camera rings on the S25 Ultra have become more pronounced, yet the phone's overall dimensions have been minimized, allowing it to weigh 218 grams with a slimmer profile that improves comfort.
This year, Samsung has introduced the Galaxy S25 Ultra with options for 12GB and 16GB RAM, along with storage capabilities of up to 1TB. We evaluated the 12GB version, and with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, it delivers exceptional performance within the Android landscape.
Furthermore, the S25 Ultra boasts a 6.9-inch AMOLED display, slightly larger on paper, but the actual experience differs.
Benchmark results place the Galaxy S25 Ultra at the leading edge among recently tested phones featuring the 8 Elite chipset. In fact, gamers are likely to be pleased, as is expected from a device in this price bracket, but the true flagship experience is highlighted through the software’s effectiveness.
Moreover, Samsung showcased many exciting AI features in the new series, with Galaxy AI 2.0 promising innovative user experiences. The Now Brief acts as Samsung’s counterpart to the Dynamic Island, enhanced by AI to boost its functionality and utility.
You can easily activate Gemini from the bottom bar, which assists in streamlining tasks, scheduling activities, and even responding to queries. Version 2.0 has made notable improvements, and we are keen to see its future evolution. The object removal feature produces clear results, outshining offerings from other premium brands in our evaluations. While the summary function still appears somewhat incomplete, we look forward to enhancements in that area as well.
For several years, Samsung has bundled the S Pen with its Ultra model, making it a natural continuation of the popular Note series.
While Samsung has remained cautious with the primary 200MP sensor and the 50MP periscope telephoto lens, this new iteration introduces a 50MP ultrawide lens in place of the earlier 12MP sensor. The camera performance is impressive, showcasing vibrant colors—which is characteristic of Samsung—and sharp details.
