OnePlus has officially announced the Ace 3 Pro, a groundbreaking smartphone set to be the first to feature the innovative Glacier Battery technology. This new technology promises to deliver unparalleled battery life in the Android market. Developed in partnership with Ningde Amperex Technology Limited (CATL), a leader in electric vehicle battery technology, the Glacier Battery is designed to provide exceptional energy density, efficiency, and long-term stability, all within a lightweight and compact form factor.
The Ace 3 Pro will be the first OnePlus device to incorporate a substantial 6,100mAh battery, although its rated capacity may be slightly lower, around 5,700mAh. This impressive capacity is achieved through the Glacier Battery technology, which boasts an industry-leading energy density of 763 watt-hours per liter (Wh/l) or 426mAh per gram. The battery also features the highest silicon content in the industry, at 6%, contributing to its outstanding performance and longevity.
Despite its advanced battery technology, the Ace 3 Pro will continue to use the same 100W SuperVOOC fast charging system found in the current OnePlus 12, ensuring rapid charging times. OnePlus claims that the Glacier Battery can retain 80% of its original capacity even after four years of regular use, underscoring its durability and reliability.
The Ace 3 Pro is scheduled to debut in China on June 27, 2024, alongside the OnePlus Pad Pro and a new smartwatch. This launch signals a new era for OnePlus, with the Glacier Battery technology set to feature in a series of high-end devices, aimed at revolutionizing battery performance in the smartphone industry.
