Vivo Vision MR Headset Announced, Signals AR/VR Expansion

Chinese tech giant Vivo has announced its entry into the mixed reality segment with the introduction of the "Vision" headset. The announcement was made at the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2025, where the company highlighted its commitment to advancing MR technology through its proprietary "Blue Technology Matrix." The platform integrates artificial intelligence models, imaging capabilities, and other innovations to enhance user experience. Additionally, Vivo confirmed its focus on consumer robotics by combining spatial computing with its existing technological expertise.

A prototype of the Vivo Vision headset was presented during the event, showcasing design elements such as sensors positioned at the lower frame. These sensors appear to be designed for hand-tracking functionality, enabling gesture-based navigation, similar to Apple’s Vision Pro. The device includes an adjustable headband to improve stability and comfort. While details on visual pass-through capabilities and eye-tracking remain undisclosed, more specifications and software details are expected in the coming months.

Hu Baishan, Vivo's executive vice president and chief operating officer, revealed that the company has established a dedicated Robotics Lab. Leveraging expertise in imaging, AI-driven large language models, and spatial computing, the company aims to integrate advanced robotics into personal and household applications. Vivo's "Blue Technology Matrix," comprising BlueImage, BlueLM, BlueOS, BlueChip, and BlueVolt, will serve as the foundation for developing robotic intelligence and vision systems.

Vivo highlighted that its next phase of innovation will focus on integrating these technologies into everyday consumer experiences, positioning itself as a key player in both MR wearables and home robotics.
