Surprising Quick Commerce Trends: Most Ordered Items on New Year's Eve 2025

On New Year's Eve, the quick commerce sector saw a surge in orders across the country, reflecting its growing popularity among consumers. As people celebrated the arrival of 2025, orders placed through platforms like Blinkit and Swiggy were surprising and numerous.

With quick commerce, it's now easier than ever for people to have necessities delivered straight to their doorsteps, eliminating the need to venture out. New Year's celebrations, as usual, brought a spike in demand for various items, with people ordering everything from food to unexpected essentials.

According to Blinkit co-founder Albinder Dhindsa, grapes emerged as a surprisingly popular item ordered on December 31st, 2024, alongside increased requests for snacks like chips and soda. Unexpectedly, there was a notable demand for men's underwear.

Additionally, Blinkit delivered an impressive number of items including 1,22,356 packs of condoms, 2.34 lakh packets of aloo bhujia, 45,531 bottles of mineral water, 6,834 packs of ice cubes, and 1,003 lipsticks. Other frequently ordered items included mineral water, condoms, and Eno.

On Swiggy and Instamart, customers mostly ordered milk, chips, chocolate, and cheese. Swiggy co-founder Phani Kishan noted that soft drinks accounted for 1 out of every 8 orders, and there was an incredible 1541.72% increase in non-alcoholic beer orders.
