Samsung has rolled out the One UI 7 Beta 5 update for the Galaxy S24 series, introducing a new video recording feature, according to reports. The update, based on Android 15, enables LOG (logarithmic) video capture on the Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra.
The latest update allows users to capture a broader dynamic range, ensuring both dark and bright areas are accurately recorded. LOG video format retains more image data compared to standard recording, providing better control over colors, shadows, and highlights during post-production. The feature also integrates a 10-bit HEVC codec for improved storage and compatibility.
Samsung had initially introduced LOG video capture with the Galaxy S25 series in January. With One UI 7 Beta 5, the feature is now being extended to the Galaxy S24 lineup.
In addition to the new recording option, One UI 7 Beta 5 addresses multiple system issues. Samsung reports that the update resolves an intermittent Now Bar display error and corrects icon size inconsistencies on the Widget Setting screen. It also fixes a Gallery Edit button operation failure and font/image overlap issues.
Other refinements include enhancements to media playback, ensuring real-time notifications, as well as adjustments to the quick action menu spacing. The update also rectifies an error affecting Notification History functionality.
