Samsung has officially refuted recent speculations about the launch of more affordable foldable smartphones in their 2024 lineup. Contrary to rumors suggesting a budget-friendly device priced between USD 400 to USD 500, the Korean tech giant has stated that they have no plans to manufacture mid-range foldable handsets. A spokesperson for Samsung dismissed the earlier reports, particularly those suggesting the release of Fan Edition versions of the Galaxy Z 6 series after the launch of the Fold 6 and Flip 6.

In a statement to Korea JoongAng Daily, the spokesperson emphasized, "We don't plan to manufacture foldable smartphones that are priced in the midrange, and the latest rumours are groundless." Addressing the prior speculation about a more affordable Galaxy Z foldable device, potentially named the Galaxy Z FE (Fan Edition), Samsung's spokesperson underscored that no decisions had been made on the matter.

Despite earlier market expectations based on reports from TrendForce indicating Samsung's plans to introduce competitive foldable phones in the mid-range market, the official denial reinforces Samsung's commitment to high-end technology in its foldable lineup. The company appears to be steering away from the mid-range segment and maintaining a focus on premium foldable handsets.
