Recent revelations suggest an intriguing development in the upcoming Poco F6 and Poco F6 Pro smartphones. Contrary to earlier speculation, it appears that the Poco F6 might offer superior CPU performance compared to its more premium counterpart, the Poco F6 Pro.
Initial reports hinted at both phones being equipped with the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chipset. However, a new leak from reliable source Kartikey Singh indicates otherwise. According to Singh, both the Poco F6 and its counterpart, the Redmi Note 13 Turbo, will feature the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor instead, set to debut on March 18. This chipset is expected to offer a slight performance boost over the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3.
Surprisingly, the Poco F6 Pro, identified as a rebranded Redmi K70, will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. While this chipset matches the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 in CPU performance, it falls short in comparison to the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 powering the Poco F6.
This configuration presents an interesting scenario where the more affordable Poco F6 could outperform its Pro variant in terms of CPU performance. However, it's worth noting that the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 may not match the gaming prowess of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, primarily due to differences in GPU capabilities. Consequently, the Poco F6 Pro might still hold an edge as the superior gaming device.
Overall, these chipset revelations add an element of intrigue to the upcoming Poco F6 series, promising an intriguing balance of performance and affordability across both models.
