Teasers for the new smartphone series surfaced on Flipkart.

The smartphone will be called Oppo K12x 5G.

After launching its flagship Reno 12 series in India this month, Oppo is gearing up to introduce a new series of smartphones in India – the K series. The debut device in this series, the Oppo K12x 5G, has been listed on a microsite on Flipkart, featuring a “Flipkart Unique” sticker, indicating it is exclusive to the platform. The official launch is scheduled for July 29, which will likely be an online event.

Oppo has revealed that the K12x 5G will feature a 360-degree damage-resistant armor body. The device uses drop-resistant materials inspired by the structure of a sponge to cushion its internal components. The display will be protected by double-reinforced Panda Glass, and the smartphone will carry MIL-STD-810H military standard certification for durability. Oppo also mentioned that the K12x 5G will come with an air cushion armor case for added protection.

Weighing 186g and measuring 7.68mm at its thinnest point, the Oppo K12x 5G has a matte finish frame for improved grip and will be available in Breeze Blue and Midnight Violet colors.

One confirmed feature is its 5,100mAh battery.

What remains unclear is whether the Oppo K12x 5G launching in India will be identical to the China variant. However, examining the Chinese model provides insight into possible specifications. The Oppo K12x in China features a 6.67-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2400×1080, a peak brightness of 2100 nits, and a standard brightness of 1200 nits. The screen is responsive to touch even with wet hands and offers a refresh rate of 120Hz or 60Hz.

Under the hood, the K12x is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G processor clocked at 2.2GHz, paired with LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. Its 5,100mAh battery supports fast charging through various protocols, including SuperVOOC, VOOC 3.0, PD3.0, and UFCS.

For photography, the device features a 50-megapixel main camera with an f/1.8 aperture and autofocus, though it lacks OIS. Additionally, there's a 2-megapixel portrait lens with an f/2.4 aperture. On the front, it has a 16-megapixel camera with an f/2.4 aperture and an 82-degree field of view.
