Oppo is gearing up to launch its next-generation foldable smartphone, the Oppo Find N5, in China, with the unveiling expected in February 2025. The company previously mentioned that this foldable would claim the title of the world's slimmest fold, and it has now provided more insights into the device's sleek design. Before diving into the other details, it's worth noting that the Oppo Find N5 might be rebranded as the OnePlus Open 2, which is anticipated to hit the shelves in the latter half of 2025.
Excitement is building around the leaks concerning the Oppo Find N5, also known as the OnePlus Open 2. These reports suggest significant upgrades over its predecessor. The new handset is rumored to be powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, marking a substantial improvement over the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 CPU found in the original OnePlus Open.
Billy Zhang, Oppo's President of Overseas Marketing, recently shared thoughts on X (formerly Twitter) regarding the upcoming Oppo Find N5 and the iPad Pro M4 variant. Currently, the M4 iPad Pro boasts a thickness of just 5.1 mm, making it the thinnest device in the Apple lineup. Oppo, however, claims that its upcoming foldable will be even slimmer than that. While this is certainly impressive, it’s important to remember that this thickness applies when the device is unfolded.
Ahead of the launch, the company revealed that the Oppo Find N5 will support wireless charging at speeds of up to 50W. This suggests that, despite its compact design, the phone's battery performance is unlikely to be compromised.
