OnePlus is reportedly working on significant upgrades for the upcoming OnePlus Watch 3, including advanced health features. Sources suggest that the smartwatch may include an Electrocardiogram (ECG) function, skin temperature monitoring, and more. There are also rumors of a "OnePlus Watch 3 Pro" model being developed.

New Health Features

According to a report by Android Authority, the latest version of the OnePlus OHealth app reveals upcoming health features not currently available in existing OnePlus watches due to a lack of necessary sensors. These features include the ability to "record, store, and display ECG data" and detect conditions such as "sinus rhythm and atrial fibrillation." This suggests that the next-gen OnePlus smartwatch will be equipped with the required sensors for these functions.

In addition to ECG, a new feature to measure "wrist temperature" is expected. This function will monitor skin temperature overnight, a feature currently missing in the OnePlus Watch 2.

Furthermore, a new "60-second check-up" feature is being developed, which will scan for four major health risks: heart health, vascular elasticity, body temperature changes, and sleep apnea. This feature will require multiple health metrics, including ECG, vascular age, heart rate, blood oxygen, pressure, wrist temperature, and sleep data.

OnePlus Watch 3 and Pro Model

The OnePlus OHealth app now references the "OnePlus Watch 3" and "OnePlus Watch 3 Pro," hinting at a broader smartwatch lineup. While details on the Watch 3 Pro remain scarce, the standard Watch 3 is expected to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 chip, 2GB of RAM, and 32GB of built-in storage.

The OnePlus Watch 3 is anticipated to launch around March 2025, following the release of the OnePlus Watch 2 in March 2024.
