NVIDIA introduced its new GeForce RTX 50 Series graphic processing units (GPUs) at CES 2025, showcasing the next step in gaming and creative performance. Built on the innovative Blackwell architecture, these GPUs are designed to enhance graphic rendering with AI-powered techniques, offering a major leap forward for gamers, developers, and creative professionals alike.

Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, described the launch as a significant milestone for the industry. "Blackwell marks a new era in PC graphics, combining AI-driven neural rendering and ray tracing to deliver groundbreaking visual experiences," Huang stated. "This is the most substantial graphics innovation since the advent of programmable shading 25 years ago."

The GeForce RTX 50 Series is led by the RTX 5090, a GPU that incorporates 92 billion transistors and delivers an impressive computing power of over 3,352 trillion operations per second (TOPS). The GPU is designed to handle demanding tasks, from gaming to professional graphics applications, with ease.

NVIDIA also introduced the latest version of its Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) technology, which aims to further improve the gaming experience. DLSS 4, available on the GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs, utilizes artificial intelligence to generate new frames, significantly enhancing gameplay smoothness. NVIDIA claims the RTX 5090 GPU, powered by DLSS 4, outperforms its predecessor, the RTX 4090, by up to 2x.

The new version of DLSS includes "Multi Frame Generation," which increases frame rates by up to three frames per rendered frame. This feature, along with other advancements in DLSS 4, provides up to 8x better performance compared to traditional rendering methods. Additionally, DLSS 4 introduces Transformer-based DLSS Ray Reconstruction and Super Resolution models, delivering superior detail and anti-aliasing for an enhanced in-game experience. Over 75 games and applications will support DLSS 4 on the GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs at launch.

Another key feature of the GeForce RTX 50 Series is the introduction of AI-powered shaders. NVIDIA's new RTX Neural Shaders aim to deliver film-quality visuals in real-time. Shaders control various visual elements in games, such as lighting, shadows, and reflections. With the RTX Neural Shaders, NVIDIA enhances material rendering and lighting effects, while RTX Neural Faces improves character rendering, including ray-traced hair and skin for more realistic in-game characters.

In addition to graphical advancements, NVIDIA also unveiled its ACE technology, which aims to revolutionize how game characters behave. ACE-powered autonomous characters will be able to perceive, plan, and act similarly to human players. This technology is being integrated into popular games such as PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS and InZOI.

In PUBG, autonomous characters will strategize and collaborate with players, adapting to in-game situations. InZOI will feature "Smart Zoi" characters that adjust their behaviors based on life goals and dynamic events.
