NTT DATA announces intent to acquire cloud engineering firm Niveus Solutions

Digital business and IT services firm NTT DATA announced on Wednesday its definitive agreement to acquire Niveus Solutions, a cloud engineering company based in Karnataka, specializing in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services. This strategic acquisition is set to accelerate NTT DATA's cloud capabilities to meet the increasing global demand for cloud solutions across various industries. The move will also solidify NTT DATA's position as a leading global system integrator for Google Cloud.

The companies did not disclose the transaction's value, which is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to finalize within the next 30-60 days.

Once the deal is closed, Niveus Solutions will bring 1,000 GCP engineering professionals to NTT DATA, enhancing the company's expertise in GCP native modernization, data engineering, and AI. This addition will bolster NTT DATA’s Google Cloud Business Unit and its ability to deliver specialized cloud platform solutions across financial services, manufacturing, automotive, retail, and logistics sectors.

NTT DATA has a strong history of acquisitions to drive synergies. Over the years, it has acquired over 90 companies globally. Earlier this year, NTT DATA acquired a majority stake in ProvenTech Pvt Ltd, a Hyderabad-based firm specializing in GenAI-driven quality management and manufacturing solutions for the pharma, healthcare, and food industries. In October, NTT DATA announced an agreement to acquire Aoop, a leading ServiceNow implementation company in Brazil. Last year, the company acquired Sapphire, a UK-based provider of digital operations software and services.

The acquisition of Niveus will build on NTT DATA’s recently expanded strategic partnership with Google Cloud, focusing on co-innovating data analytics and GenAI solutions for enterprise clients. This alliance aims to deliver cloud-based data and AI solutions tailored for industry-specific needs.

Founded in 2013 by Suyog Shetty, Rashmi George, Roshan Bava, and Mohsin Khan, Niveus Solutions has grown into a boot-strapped cloud engineering services organization. The founders, who have extensive experience with companies such as Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, and Sapient, were inspired by the immense talent pool in nearby education hubs like Udupi, Manipal, and Mangalore.
