Nothing Teased New CMF Phone 2 Design: Know What To Expect

Nothing's sub-brand, CMF, is gearing up to launch its second-generation mid-range smartphone, the CMF Phone 2, in India.
With the buzz around its release growing, the company has started to drop hints about what’s in store. Recently, CMF India teased an image of the smartphone’s camera module, sparking curiosity about potential design or camera enhancements. Now, a new teaser has surfaced, showcasing a CMF Phone 2 design that is fresh and textured. So, let’s dive into what CMF has in store for its next-gen smartphone model.
CMF Phone 2: What To Expect
In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday, the smartphone brand revealed a sneak peek of the rear panel on the purported CMF Phone 2. A brief video shows the handset with plastic edges and a screw that holds the redesigned rear panel in place. The movement of the handset reveals a glossy rear panel with a matte finish.
While the post doesn’t disclose the exact material of the rear panel, it could potentially be plastic or aluminum. The current generation model features a polycarbonate or vegan rear panel. The teaser also showcases the CMF by Nothing logo on the bottom left corner, which shifts in appearance from light to dark depending on the angle.
From the available information, it’s expected that the upcoming smartphone will include modest hardware upgrades over the first-generation CMF Phone 1. The previous model boasts a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chip. It also packs a robust 5,000 mAh battery that supports 33W charging.
Regarding cameras, leaks suggest that the smartphone will feature a triple camera setup, possibly improving upon the 50-MP primary and portrait sensors found in the Phone 1. An image of the complete rear panel has been revealed in the leaks, and the left section seems to correspond with the one shown in CMF's teaser.
Another notable feature of the CMF Phone 2 is the accessory point system, allowing users to attach accessories like a phone stand, card case, or lanyard.
