Nonetheless, Sundar Pichai's property is not just about prestige tha captivates him. Manikandan has been deeply inspired by Pichai's parents' genuine humility.
It was reported that Manikandan patiently awaited four months while the Google CEO's father, RS Pichai, was in the United States. Manikandan remained determined and enthusiastic regardless of the delay.
“Sundar’s mother made a filter coffee herself and his father offered me the documents right at the first meeting,” he added. “I was spellbound by their humility and humble approach,” Manikandan also emphasized that Pichai's father was determined to avoid using the Google CEO's name.
“In fact, his father waited for hours at the registration office, paid all necessary taxes before handing over the documents to me,” he said.
In 1989, Sundar Pichai left Chennai to attend IIT Kharagpur to study Metallurgical Engineering.
Pichai lived in this house until he was 20. The Google CEO distributed money and some household items to the security guards during a visit to Chennai in December. A neighbor recalls, on his balcony, Pichai also took selfies with his family members, capturing precious moments.
According to Manikandan, Pichai's father demolished the entire property and handed over the plot for development.
"When Sundar's father handed over the documents, he became emotional for a few minutes since this was his first property," said Manikandan.
It is expected that Manikandan will construct a villa in the vacant space within the next one and a half years, in order to reclaim the space from the government.
