Microsoft Denies Claims on Training AI Models Via User Data

Microsoft has denied claims about using user’s data from Microsoft 365 applications, including Word and Excel to train its AI models.

However, Microsoft has denied any such wrongdoings by calling them ‘untrue’.

The software major told Reuters “These claims are untrue. Microsoft does not use customer data from Microsoft 365 consumer and commercial applications to train foundational large language models."

Notably, users via social media highlighted the company’s requirement to opt-out users from its ‘connected experiences’ feature. They claimed that the company is using this data to train AI models.
