Microsoft is giving its AI assistant, Copilot, a major upgrade with a whole bunch of new features aimed at making your digital experience more personal, helpful, and hands-free.

What’s New in Copilot?

In a recent blog post, Mustafa Suleyman, EVP and CEO of Microsoft AI, announced several exciting features now rolling out globally. These upgrades are designed to make Copilot feel more like a helpful companion and less like just another chatbot.

Memory for a Personal Touch

Copilot is getting a Memory feature that allows it to remember personal details like your favorite foods, important birthdays, and hobbies. This means Copilot can tailor its suggestions, reminders, and responses based on what it knows about you. Don’t worry — you’re in control. You can manage what it remembers or even turn this feature off entirely.

Custom Looks Coming Soon

Microsoft is working on personalisation features that will let users give Copilot a custom appearance. While details are still under wraps, the idea is that your Copilot will soon look and feel more like your own.

Agentic Features – Copilot Takes Action

Introducing Copilot Actions – a new agentic capability that lets the AI complete tasks for you online. From booking event tickets and reserving restaurant tables to sending gifts, Copilot can now get things done in the background. It works with major platforms like Booking.com, OpenTable, Expedia, Tripadvisor, and more.

Copilot Vision Expands to Mobile and Desktop

Copilot Vision, an image recognition and understanding feature, is now coming to mobile devices and Windows desktops. Using your device’s camera, Copilot can "see" and interpret your surroundings, photos, or even your screen to provide real-time answers and interactions. This update will be available to Windows Insiders starting next week.

Smarter Notes with Copilot Pages

Got a bunch of research or scattered notes? With Copilot Pages, just drop your content in, and it’ll format, organize, and simplify it for easier reading. You can also ask questions based on the info or quickly update the document with a tap.

AI-Powered Podcasts Tailored to You

A new feature called Podcasts allows Copilot to create personalized audio sessions based on your interests. You can even chat with Copilot while listening, making it a more interactive and informative experience.

Your Personal Shopping Assistant

Copilot now helps with product research, comparisons, price drop alerts, and even purchasing — all from within the app. It's like having a smart shopping assistant at your fingertips.

Deep Research & Smarter Search

Two final features round out the upgrade:

Deep Research: Let Copilot dig deep into complex topics and help create in-depth reports.

Copilot Search: Now integrated into Bing, this merges traditional search with AI-generated answers, complete with cited sources and deeper insights.

With these updates, Microsoft is making Copilot a lot more than just a chatbot — it's evolving into a truly intelligent personal assistant. Whether you’re organizing your life, doing research, shopping smarter, or just listening to a podcast, Copilot is now ready to help in smarter, more human-like ways.
