After the surprising and successful launch of the iPhone 16e, Apple is expected to launch the M4 MacBook Air this week. Over the past few weeks, leaks surrounding the 2025 MacBook Air model have been circulating with an early March launch. Now, as we have officially entered the new month, Apple could drop the device at any moment.

According to Mark Gurman, M3 MacBook Air inventory has "significantly wound down," and Apple is "preparing its marketing, sales, and retail teams for the debut" of the 13- and 15-inch M4 MacBook Air. Apple reduced the price of the M2 MacBook Air shortly after the release of the M3 variant. We should expect something similar following the launch of the M4 MacBook Air. What remains to be seen is if Apple will continue to sell the M2 model, maybe lowering the price even further to make it more affordable. It is likely that this is the case, but we will have to wait and see how things play out.

As for what is coming, we can expect minimal changes in design and display. However, for big modifications, it is projected to have improved performance and longer battery life.

The M4 chip is rumored to have a 10-core CPU, which is an upgrade from the 8-core CPU in the M3 model. RAM might get a boost too, starting at a minimum of 16GB and going up to a new max of 32GB, compared to the 24GB cap on the M3 MacBook Air. Plus, the memory bandwidth is expected to increase a bit, from 100 GB/s to 120 GB/s.

Another cool upgrade for the M4 MacBook Air could be the addition of a 12-megapixel webcam with Center Stage, which keeps you centered in the frame during video calls. This feature used to be limited to certain iPads and Macs linked to Apple’s Studio Display, but Apple recently rolled it out to the MacBook Pro and iMac as well. Desk View is also likely to make an appearance, giving an overhead shot of your desk while keeping you in focus.

Lastly, it should be able to support two external displays with the lid open, just like the M4 MacBook Pro. Prices are expected to stay similar to last year’s, so keep an eye out for more updates!
