Mumbai, Mar 26: The Mumbai Press Club has selected a proposal from K Rajendran -- Beehive Fence to AI Alert: Relevance of technology to mitigate man-animal conflict in Kerala -- for the Mumbai Press Club – N R Prakash Fellowship for Science & Technology 2024.
Rajendran, a broadcast journalist, is presently working as Senior News Editor with the leading Malayalam TV News channel Kairali News.
The winning pitch was selected by a panel of three members: S Srinivasan, co-founder and managing trustee of LOCOST; Prabhakar Nair, a former writer at Science Today; and Mrityunjay Bose, a senior journalist.
As part of his 6-month fellowship, Rajendran will produce a long-form article on the above subject.
The fellowship carries a purse of Rs 50,000. It has been set up to encourage serious, well-researched, and perceptive writing on issues in science and technology.
The Fellowship is supported by the family of NR Prakash and has been instituted in his memory. N R Prakash was an engineer who, all his working life, sought to apply science and technology solutions across disciplines and work spheres, whether in petrochemical plants, kitchens, or gardens.
