iPad Mini 7 debuts with A17 Pro Chip, Apple intelligence, and Apple Pencil Pro compatibility

Apple has unveiled the seventh-generation iPad Mini, now equipped with the powerful A17 Pro chip and enhanced with Apple Intelligence AI features. The new Mini also supports the Apple Pencil Pro, which was introduced earlier this year with updates to the iPad Pro and Air. The starting price for the iPad Mini 7 is Rs 49,900, with general availability set for October 23, 2024.

iPad Mini 7: Specifications and Features

The iPad Mini 7 has been eagerly anticipated, arriving three years after the iPad Mini 6, which featured a significant design overhaul with an edge-to-edge screen and USB Type-C charging. The new Mini retains this modern design while refreshing its internal components.

One of the standout updates is the inclusion of the A17 Pro chip, borrowed from the iPhone 15 Pro models. Apple claims this new chip offers a 30% boost in CPU performance and a 25% improvement in graphics compared to the A15 Bionic chip in the iPad Mini 6. Additionally, the iPad Mini 7 supports Apple Intelligence, suggesting a possible RAM upgrade to 8GB. The base storage has been doubled from 64GB to 128GB, with options up to 512GB.

The iPad Mini 7 also supports the Apple Pencil Pro, previously compatible with the M4 iPad Pro and M2 iPad Air. Connectivity improvements include Wi-Fi 6E and a USB Type-C port with data transfer speeds up to 10Gbps, double that of its predecessor.
